If you’ve followed me through the last four posts, you’ve heard the nutshell of the vision of this blog and my ministry.
- I’d love to help God’s people see that a life of love is what makes us whole in Christ.
- I feel like God would remind all of us parents about our responsibility to raise our children.
- I want to tell every youth pastor and children’s minister that the one hour they get every week isn’t enough.
That’s why I have a blog. My thoughts are more than opinion, more than strategy. I pray that what I share through this blog is just one of the tools God uses to reshape how our Christian culture thinks about parenting.
It’s not enough to say you took your kids to church so you’ve done your duty. That isn’t your duty, your job is so much more than that. We get so caught up in the work for the kingdom that we neglect the kingdom in our own home. We have the grandiose ideas about changing the world and don’t take the time to change OUR world. It’s a sad state of affairs but I’m convinced that God is willing to help us make it better.
If we as parents, ministers, teachers, mentors, and whatever will step out and do what’s right–if we’ll just catch the high calling of being who our children need us to be–we can see culture change. I heard someone once say they’d never want to bring a child into this sick and perverted world. My response? If we don’t raise our kids to be adults who are whole in Christ, who is God going to use to change the world?
Thanks for reading…see ya Friday.
