Hello World! (Little WordPress joke there.) I know it’s been a while and it seems like it’s been even longer. Where have I been you ask? What has K. Michael Prince been up to you’re thinking? The answer is simple and complex and obvious and complicated and awesome and awful and crazy, so…here goes.
Many of the reasons for my absence are none of your business. Actually the details are just too much and too boring for me to want to type out. Lets just say that through a lot of different circumstances that were not caused by anyone involved our church I’m now employed by a different church that is attended by the same people. I know it’s confusing and really needs more explanation but you just don’t want me to go there, trust me.
As nuts and difficult as these last few months have been they have taught me tons and brought me to a place that, during the experience, I didn’t think could get to. I’m, somehow right where God wants me. Amazing. God has a way of “turning all things to the good” doesn’t he? He definitely did in this situation and I’d like to share what I’ve learned and where we are headed.
In this, the first installment of my tale, I must begin by confessing that everything you’ve read up until now was written in December of last year (2012.) Here I sit in the big fat middle of March wondering where the last eight months have gone. Our church has gone from a big building known for shows, entertainment, and our church to a multitude of other buildings ranging from other theaters to office parks. Now we have finally landed, as of the beginning of this year, for the next couple of years at least in a former night club/bar and we’re doing well.
Personally, my family and I have been through some tough things dealing with people who are hurt and confused by our church’s situation and taking it out in all the wrong places. We’ve also dealt with people upset by our ministry decisions and had to put those fires out. But I’m sitting in my office that was built into the former sports bar area of “Tabu” night club on the corner of Highways 65 and 248 amazed at how God brings us through and sets us up with new opportunities and focus.
I’ll continue to post over the next few weeks and share our vision and dream for ministry moving forward. I could fill a few months with stories from the past few experiences in ministry here but I don’t think I’ll dwell on the past. Besides, I think I’ll save that stuff for a book someday. Trust me, it’s been that crazy.
When have you been through that should have left you tired and “over it” but God, instead used it to strengthen your resolve and further your vision?
